‘La Vie En Rose’ is a personal commentary on societal flaws in the context of romanticizing mental disorders - in the realm of depression and anxiety. The world has reached an era that is dependent on image and how every individual is perceived, an era that easily allows for self-augmentation and alteration of one’s true self; resulting in confusing fronts put up by individuals of prominent influence and a society left with false facts and worrying opinions on the mental health epidemic.
Trends are no longer exclusive to fashion, music and art, instead they have expanded to the acts of adopting certain mental disorders from time to time – ‘whatever fits, whatever goes, whatever looks good on me.’. An era in which we hastily disregard the true magnitude of these issues should be an era that needs an immediate reboot.
